FAQ - Counselling Appointments
|
If you still have a question about counselling appointments after reading through this page, you're welcome to give me a call on 08 83819586 (Australian residents only). The counselling process page gives an outline of what happens during therapy.
How much does counselling cost? How quickly can I have an appointment? How do I arrange an appointment? Can I speak to you first, without having to commit to an appointment? What if I need to change the day or time after I've made the appointment? What happens if I don't keep my first appointment? Can I claim the cost through Medicare or a private health fund? |
How much does counselling cost? The standard fee for face-to-face and telephone counselling is $75.00 per sixty minute session. I may negotiate a reduced fee if you're unemployed. Call charges are included, except to mobile phones.
How quickly can I have an appointment? An appointment is usually available within a few days of initial contact. If you need an appointment sooner or outside office hours, I will attempt to accommodate depending on availability. Please keep in mind I do not offer a crisis service. My Links page will give you information if this is your situation.
Telephone Counselling: Payment is by credit card or direct debit. Face-To-Face Counselling: Cash can be paid on the day.
My office for face-to-face appointments is located at Room 6, 310 South Terrace, Adelaide.
How do I arrange an appointment? The easiest way is to give me a call on 08 83819586. Or email nexus@westnet.com.au and include the following details: Specify whether you require a face-to-face appointment in Adelaide, or counselling by phone. Include your full name, location, area code and phone number and three options of the days and times you will be available for the session.
Can I speak to you first, without having to commit to an appointment? Yes. I understand choosing the right counsellor for you is an important decision. I'm sure you'll respect this offer and not view it as an opportunity to access free advice. You can also make an enquiry by email at nexus@westnet.com.au
What if I need to change the day or time once I've made the appointment? In the case of an unexpected family emergency or illness on the day, you just need to notify me as soon as possible to reschedule.
What happens if I don't keep my first appointment? If you haven't notified me, I will assume you've either changed your mind, found a more suitable therapist or forgotten the appointment. Because that hour could have been allocated to another person, you will be charged the full fee.
Can I claim through Medicare or a private health fund? Unfortunately at this time neither Medicare nor health fund rebates apply to counselling services. If the cost of counselling is prohibitive, you should speak with your General Practitioner about other options.
